Emilee Johnstone (MCS - EAE), a passionate game designer with a talent for crafting meaningful interactive experiences, has dedicated her career to bringing joy and educational value to games. From her early days organizing games with her neighborhood peers, she has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of play in creating meaningful moments for people of all ages.

Initially pursuing archaeology and literature, Emilee discovered the EAE program at the University of Utah, which ignited her passion for game design and project leadership. With the program’s project-based approach, she successfully pitched games and led large student teams in their creation. While her student projects reached millions of people, her most impactful experience was collaborating with the Therapeutic Games and Apps Lab on Neurogrow, a game that has been shown to successfully improve treatment-resistant clinical depression.

In 2021, Emilee co-founded InkBlack Interactive with her husband, Alex Johnstone, who shares her passion for blending fun and learning in innovative ways. Their first game, Art’s Tiles, is a daily art history puzzle game available on iOS and Android.
